Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using CheckrideReady ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users including students, instructors, and visitors.

2. Description of Service

CheckrideReady is an AI-powered oral exam preparation platform for student pilots. The Service provides practice sessions simulating FAA oral examinations, progress tracking across ACS task areas, and an instructor portal for CFIs. CheckrideReady is a study tool only and is not affiliated with the FAA, AOPA, or any flight school or testing authority.

3. Not a Substitute for Professional Instruction

CheckrideReady is designed to supplement — not replace — instruction from a certified flight instructor (CFI) or designated pilot examiner (DPE). The AI examiner is a practice tool. Nothing on this platform constitutes official flight training, aeronautical instruction, or certification. Always consult a qualified CFI for official guidance on flight operations and regulations.

4. Account Registration

You must create an account to use the Service. You agree to:

• Provide accurate information when registering
• Keep your password secure and not share it with others
• Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Subscriptions & Billing

CheckrideReady offers the following plans:

• Free Trial — 7 days, 1 session per day. No payment method required. After 7 days you must select a paid plan to continue using session features; the trial does not convert automatically.
• Base — $19.99/month or $191.90/year. 40 sessions per month.
• Premium — $39.99/month or $383.90/year. Unlimited sessions and instructor portal access.

Paid plans are billed immediately upon subscribing and renew automatically each billing period. All billing is processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. You may cancel at any time through the billing portal in your Profile page. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

6. Refund Policy

We offer refunds within 7 days of your first charge if you are not satisfied with the Service. After 7 days, all charges are non-refundable. To request a refund, contact us at support@checkrideready.org within the refund window.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the platform
• Share your account credentials with others
• Submit harmful, abusive, or inappropriate content in exam sessions
• Attempt to manipulate or game the AI examiner system
• Use the Service in any way that could damage or overload our infrastructure

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and materials on CheckrideReady are owned by or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without our express written permission. Your session data and progress data belong to you.

9. AI-Generated Content

Exam questions and responses are generated by AI (Anthropic Claude) and may contain errors or inaccuracies. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content. Always verify regulatory information against official FAA publications including the AIM, FARs, and applicable ACS documents.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific requirements. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CheckrideReady and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, failed checkrides, or decisions made based on AI-generated content.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
